چکیده
Abstract Background CCE is a systemic disease with poor prognosis no established treatment. Approximately 23–32% of cases progress to end-stage renal failure, and the 1-year mortality rate organ failure 60–90%. The dialysis method for patients still controversial. Case report patient 73 years old male who was diagnosed idiopathic CCE. He had survived 7 though he been on maintenance HD. We used nafamostat HD every time. took prednisolone statin. died due rupture AAA we autopsied him. CCs developed in five organs, including right lung assumed be continuously present since diagnosis. Discussion conclusion continuous until death, were possibly through AV shunt could worsen CCE, should recognized as aggravating factor. use while undergoing well steroids statins death may have prevented fatal events contributed patient's long survival.

A 66-year-old woman receiving continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis developed acute respiratory distress 12 hours after a fall. Blood gas analysis revealed hypoxia (PaO2 67.7 torr) and metabolic acidosis with an increased anion gap, consistent with lactic acidosis (lactate, 86.5 mg/dL; normal range, 4.0-16.0). Magnetic resonance imaging showed a lumbar vertebral body fracture. On the fourth...

Cholesterol crystal embolism, known as atheroembolic disease, is caused by showers of cholesterol crystals from an atherosclerotic plaque that occludes small arteries. Embolization can occur spontaneously or as an iatrogenic complication from an invasive vascular procedure (angiography or vascular surgery) and after anticoagulant therapy.
